Being a Broad – a travel memoir
Three years ago, I left my life behind and travelled to Uganda, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Sweden and Italy (some of them more than once) in search of a more meaningful life. Being a Broad is an edited collection of my best blog posts from that journey, with a few extras on the side. It’s about my quest for community, purpose and happiness, and the many incredible, beautiful and unglamorous things that happened along the way.
It is also a teaser of sorts for the “real” book I’m writing about this trip – the story of what happened behind the blog posts. That book, which is also about love, sex, heartbreak, near-death experiences, magic, Buddhists, Queer folx, Buddhist Queer folx, addiction, depression, the search for a spiritual life, the search for a normal life, independence, inner peace and cheesecake – not in that order – will be out soon.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it!
